Estidama is a building design methodology for constructing and operating buildings and communities more sustainably. The program is a key aspect of the “Abu Dhabi Vision 2030” drive to build the Abu Dhabi emirate according to innovative green standards. “Estidama” is the Arabic word for sustainability.
One of Estidama’s key initiatives is the Pearl Rating System.
The four pillars of Estidama are
- Environmental
- Economic
- Social
- Cultural
Estidama is rated on a scale of 1 to 3 pearls.
The Pearl Rating System currently comprises the following documents:
- Pearl Community Rating System: Planning
- Public Realm Rating System: Design & Construction
- Pearl Building Rating System: Design & Construction
- Pearl Villa Rating System: Design & Construction
The Pearl Rating System recognises the reality of ownership and responsibility transitions as a project evolves from a design team to a construction team to a facility management team. Accordingly, four rating stages have been established:
- Planning,
- Design,
- Construction
- Operational.
The Pearl Qualified Professional (PQP) is a member of the design team who facilitates the Pearl Rating System for Planning, Design and Construction stages.
We have inhouse staffs with
- PQP Pearl Community Rating System (PCRS)
- PQP Pearl Building Rating System (PBRS)
