- WELL is managed and administered by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI)
- The WELL Building Standard® is third-party certified by the Green Business Certification Incorporation (GBCI), which administers the LEED certification program and the LEED professional credentialing program.
- WELL is a performance-based system for measuring, certifying, and monitoring features of the built environment that impact human health and well-being, through air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort and mind. There is very good amount of synergy between WELL and LEED
- For WELL v1, there are three project types:
- New and Existing Buildings
- New and Existing Interiors
- Core and Shell
- WELL Certification requires documentation as well as a series of onsite performance tests known as Performance Verification prior to final certification review.
- Any project seeking WELL certification must meet all Preconditions (41 Nos.) and Optimization Features (61 Nos) are Optional.
- If project meets all preconditions but cannot achieve any optimization feature then it will be considered as WELL Silver.
- For WELL certification at Gold Level, we require to meet all 41 Preconditions and 40% of 61 nos. optimization Features.
- In the event project achieves 80% Optimization Features then it will be declared WELL Platinum
